One of the best things we do for our clients is help ensure they take the time upfront to plan in order to minimize potential issues that could arise (also known at PLEXUS as CYA!). Whether we work with our clients to expect and plan for contingencies in project management, developing a schedule in conjunction with an overall project strategy, putting data systems in place that provide the information needed when they need it, to jumping in to implement a project that is clearly not on track and completing it in a timely manner – we are in the business of “covering” our clients daily.
An example of this is when PLEXUS jumped in and completed an Oracle installation project for RIDOT that had been underway for years. As the deadline approached it was apparent that they were unable to meet this deadline. PLEXUS was brought in and completed the project in three months – allowing RIDOT to meet their deadline.
Another big area where we get involved in CYA is when it comes to construction claims. We don’t think anyone wakes up one morning and says, “Boy I hope I am involved in a really messy claim today!” PLEXUS knows this and works with our clients to put the systems in place to minimize the exposure to claims. And in the unfortunate instance that a claim is inevitable – PLEXUS has developed and managed the process in such a way that the claim is not so painful and favorable to our clients. Sometimes we are hired for the first time when someone is involved in a messy claim – not as easy as being there from the beginning – but we can jump in and cya.
